Mr.Dennis Gephart holds professional memberships in Wisconsin State Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Educators, and American Choral Directors Association’. In his free time he enjoys being outdoors and is an active hunters education instructor, mentor hunting instructor, and board member for the Ozaukee/ Washington Pheasants Forever chapter.
Dennis Gephart is in his eleventh year as Director of Choral Activities and department head at Port Washington High School where he directs four curricular, and three extracurricular choral groups. He also mentors two student run extracurricular vocal ensembles and is the vocal director for the High School Musicals. In addition to Mr. Gepharts school responsibilities he helped develop the Port Washington Saukville Arts Council where has served as president from 2008-2011. He also has been the WCDA State Honors Vocal Jazz Assistant director from 2007-2011 and has helped teach the Wisconsin Vocal Jazz institute for the past five years. He holds a bachelors of music from UW Stevens Point and a Masters in Administrative Leadership from Marian University in Fond du Lac WI.
Vocal groups under the direction of Mr. Gephart has received numerous superior ratings both locally, nationally and internationally. In 2010 the Vocal Jazz group limited Edition from Port Washington High School won the Midwest International High School A cappella semi final championships and were titled National Champions in New York City later that year. In March of 2012 they were titled the ICHSA Midwest champions again and will travel to New York City to compete in the International Championships this April. In 2013 the group once again received high acclaim by being selected to be on the Best of High School A cappella c/d along with 10 other outstanding High school groups from around the nation.
