We are so excited to release this video, we put have so much hard work into this. For this video, we decided to film in our hometown Port Washington, Wi where we have grown up and made old friends. We hope you enjoy!
A special thanks to Justin Critchfield for mixing the song, and to Ed Boyer for mastering the song!
Also, special thanks to Lyla Waranka for directing, filming and editing the video!
We very proud and excited to announce that Wisconsin's largest A cappella festival is back and better than ever. Now in its 7th year, this festival has provided a non-competitive performance and educational opportunity for hundreds of directors and students from around the United States. Registration is now open for you to be part of this great experience.
This year's event will be held in the newly renovated Port Washington High School Performing Arts Center on April 3rd and 4th 2020. With a focus on networking with other groups and directors and working with nationally recognized directors, you will quickly find out that this isn’t your normal festival. Here’s what the festival includes.
Friday evening headliner concert for all your students featuring five of the best ensembles from around the nation.
Every group will receive a 45 minute masterclass from one of the top clinicians in the country based on either musicality or staging (your choice). A second masterclass is available for an additional fee.
ALL groups that register will get to perform on our state-of-the-art sound system in the newly renovated Port Washington High School PAC. All performances will be mixed by professional sound technicians and lighting designers. (A perfect time to record your students). All performances will be stereo recorded and available upon request as well.
Mini performance rooms will be available for groups to have the opportunity to have 1- on - 1 exchanges with other parts of the nation and network and learn from each other.
We will be taking professional photos of your group on stage. Each group will get a few of these for free to use for promotional purposes with the option to purchase additional photos.
The environment is collaborative, friendly, non-competitive, and fun! It is open to groups of all ages.
Friday’s concert will be $10 per student and $15 for chaperones. The cost for Saturday’s festival is $400 per group, directors are free. Tickets will be sold at the door on Friday for our special headline performance to parents, family members, and friends! Lunch and dinner will be offered on campus (separate and cash only).
We hope that this workshop and festival will fit into your schedule for spring. Please fill out the Registration Form to reserve your spot. Please note that your spot will not be fully reserved until your full payment has been turned in. Once you fill out the form, there will be a grand total of your payment sent over to you in about a week. This year, there will be only 25 groups accepted in order of receipt of your registration with others going on a waitlist.
Lodging information can be found on The Harborview Hotels website. We have reserved a block of rooms for Acapocalypse so groups can network and hang out back at the hotel.
Friday's headliner concert will consist of a performance of some of the best A cappella group in the United States and start at 7:00 pm so you don’t have to miss any school days. Saturday's festival will be done at 4:30 so everyone can make it back home that evening.
I hope to see you and all your groups for this great experience
